Katie McIver, BSN, RN, serves as the Administrator/Director of Nurses at HOPE Healthcare and Hospice. She is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she received her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2011.

Katie initially began her nursing career in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry before following her calling to hospice care. Her passion for learning has driven her to many different roles and facets in hospice care, including admissions, case management, general inpatient hospice care, on-call hospice nurse, and Patient Care Manager.

Her focus has always been on helping patients navigate their end of life with peace, dignity, and comfort throughout her hospice career. 

Katie says, “Hospice has provided me with an abundance of perspective. It forces you to face your own mortality and humanity in truly profound ways. You quickly realize how short life is and how easily it can be wasted worrying about things that you can’t change. So, I focus on trying to be as good of a person as I can be while helping as many people as possible as often as possible.”
